Meanwhile from afar, nature looks calm and forgiving. But somehow she’s always veiled from direct awareness; interspersed by geometrical entities of our making, themselves so innocent, they really have no say in the game, except becoming as silent and gazeful as nature itself.

The project was initiated at the end of the 90’s during the economic boom of the post Lebanese civil war years. The ambition:

Even though it’s a wide-open expanse where everything is more visible, the landfill is so much more loving towards the dances pouring in from just a block away… however humble, she already claims a sovereignty all her own. But will Beirut ever let her be?
