The project was initiated at the end of the 90’s during the economic boom of the post Lebanese civil war years. The ambition: "a reclamation of 60 hectares of land and an uninterrupted 3.5 km extension of the city shoreline, commanding five views of the Mediterranean and the Lebanese mountains". When completed, it is “destined to become a major destination” and will contain two marinas, a waterside city park, a corniche and quayside promenade land, parking and exhibition centers…
