Icebox on Wheels

PANAMA | Wednesday, 17 October 2007 | Views [1496]

We're off on our overnight bus to David, en route to the small mountain of Boquete.  We were warned that busses here were chilled with air conditioning, so we had our long pants, fleeces, and wool socks ready, while we waited in 90˚ weather for our midnight departure.  This bus is literally an ice box on wheels.  We freeze the entire 6 hours drive to David, not to mention the dripping air conditioning units above our seats that keep us nice and wet.  It's hard to imagine a bus ride could be so cold, especially coming from our past nine months of bus transportation in the tropics where we've sweated our rides away.  This ride, however, was efficient, and we arrived the terminal in David at 6:00 a.m.
