Haffie had a recording gig this morning at 9, I left his house around 10 and walked around, nothing was quite open yet but I had spent some time on the CRAPPY internet (signal) in a few cafes around..
I spent most of the morning searching out the best deal for a flight to Copenhagen from Keflavik airport, all of which were terribly expensive, ugh. Haffie came to my rescue and found a great deal through an Icelandic website, all in Icelandic so I couldn't read it, and found a flight for $200 bucks ! yowza! I was thinking about taking the ferry to Norway but have decided to buy a Eurorail Scandinavia pass that will allow me to take the train between Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland for about 5 days, however many times I want. I may even try out rideshares within Europe.
Today was great. I saw Alicia walking towards me and Haffie on some street in Reykjavik, total surprise, and she joined us as we walked to the weekend flea market nearby. The flea market was outstanding, offering many highly sought items at a much more reduced price. I saw bought a wool hat that is so warm but itchy, and I probably paid $50 less for it than I would have at some tourist shop.
Later that evening Haffie and I went to the movies to see District 9, the movie about a stalled alien mothership over Johannesburg and the rebels who want to harness their alien power. It was pretty good I must say, and I'm a huge stickler for CGI graphics: I generally loath most CGI that I see in Hollywood films, but this film was done tastefully in my opinion.
We went to Barbara again but I wasn't feeling it totally, we left shortly after we arrived. I did however meet a lovely lady, one of Haffie's friends, who is a talented and beautiful vocalist & composer.
Bed time.
