Day 115 - 80 Miles from Colombia

PANAMA | Monday, 22 September 2014 | Views [330]

Day 2 on the open seas. We have just kept rocking to & fro, holding onto whatever doesn't move & timing our movements with lulls in the waves.

Everyone seems a little tired & suffering a bit of cabin fever but all remains on track. We even managed to make pancakes for lunch in what could only be described as an extreme cooking challenge. It worked out pretty well really :)

A tiny bird landed on deck this morning, 100 miles from any land. Poor guy must be completely lost & was exhausted. He slept on deck most of the day & we are pretty sure he will cruise with us to cartagena. We've decided he is the best kind of stowaway & nicknamed him Fride which is loosely derived from the German word for freedom.

Late in the afternoon we were escorted for a while by a large school of dolphins. We all crammed round the front of the boat as the jumped alongside & underneath us. Even Fride came along to see what the fuss was about.

A final dinner on board and then a little snooze before we woke to see the Cartagena skyline as we pulled into the Harbour at around 2am.
