We packed into a chicken bus around 9am in Granada, waited two hours for it to fill up & depart towards Rivas. Lindy and I shared our two seats with a third woman & there wasn't a spare pocket of space to be found amidst bags & people.
Making it to San Jorge at around 1.30pm we then crammed into a leaky, leaning ramshackle chicken bus type ferry for the journey over to isla de Ometepe.
The views of Volcan Concepcion from the boat were incredible even if we were a little concerned about the water coming in & obvious lean to the right!
We were still with a few of our crew from Apoyo & all headed to Yogi's hostel for the night. After touring around the town & spending sunset by the lake Lindy & I booked to hike Concepcion (10hrs or so) in the morning.
We had dinner with our two American friends at a funky little cafe during which we survived two black outs. A real candlelit dinner :) A further blackout happened while I was in the shower. Lucky the water still worked!
