Day 80 - Salcoatitan & Paseo Del Carmen

EL SALVADOR | Monday, 18 August 2014 | Views [404]

Struggled with a pathetic morning run and then set out to explore Salcoatitan along the Ruta de Las Flores.

The town was tiny & we were done within an hour so we headed back to Juayua to check out the weekend markets including three streets worth of local food!

Lunch was a feast of prawns, steak, tortillas, horchata & topped off with nuegados - yuca smashed, fried & topped with a honey/molasses type sauce. We decided not to opt for the frog skewers...

Then it was chicken bus time back to San Salvador.

Once back we got I'm touch with Mario & then we headed out with some of his other friends & his brother Jose for papusas. On the way to dinner we were caught in a crazy thunderstorm & it buckeyes down for the rest of the night!

We didn't let the rain dampen our night though & headed from dinner to Paseo Del Carmen for cocktails & karaoke! It was a hilarious night out. Some classic dance moves were on display & everyone was in good form.
