Day 75 - San Salvador

EL SALVADOR | Tuesday, 12 August 2014 | Views [212]

Said goodbye to Dad & set off on an early bus ride from San Pedro Sula to San Salvador. 8-10 hours of bumpy roads & non- air conditioned comfort is really not that bad. Truly. Felt pretty average today so travel snooze time was actually a good way to rest.

Arrived in San Salvador and checked in at a hostel that had great reviews online & in LP. Turns out there are new owners, it's dead quiet, strange, sterile & a bit random but it's home for a few days and they did our washing for us! Winning!

With what was left of the day we walked around the neighborhood & found the metro centre. We randomly ran into an El Salvadorian guy we met diving in Belize in the mall - a great surprise & hopefully we will be catching up with him tomorrow night. He promises to take us for the best Papuses & maybe some dancing! He is also trying to convince us to dive in the volcanic crater :) I've got a cold/flu thing do I'm definitely not going to dive but will see how I'm feeling :)

At a loss for activities we found some street food & discovered an English film showing at the Cinemax! We watched the 'fading gigolo' - a new Woody Allen film. Pretty funny actually & well worth a viewing :)

It's gallery & museum touring time tomorrow & then settling on next steps as we journey to Nicaragua.
