We spent almost the entire day in transit from Lake Antitlan to Antigua.
We were crammed into a tiny private shuttle with a heap of other travellers including at least 7 friendly & funny Irish backpackers.
The journey got a little hairy at times as we passed through a random, intense storm in the mountains. The roads were gushing with water, rocks were falling from the sides of the road & we were trying to navigate tight steep corners, chicken buses, motorbikes & the elements. The hitl in the front had to keep wiping the window so the driver could see!
Luckily we all embraced it, chatted, played cards & laughed awkwardly when we had those 'are we going to die!?' moments.
Once we finally arrived in Antigua we found a hostel - cheap & cheerful & had some drinks on our terrace bar with some friends from the bus & people from the hostel.
After a late dinner we were wrecked & decided to give Ladies night at the local club a miss.
