Day 47 - San Pedro La Laguna

GUATEMALA | Monday, 14 July 2014 | Views [272]

After a morning run we cooked up a bunch of leftover veggies for breakfast & set out to kayak for a couple of hours.

It wasn't ideal kayaking weather & we had a but of chop & strong headwinds but we paddled about for almost 2 hours checking out the opposite side if the lake, little beaches & some sunken houses.

While soaking wet we headed to this amazing health food shop to stock up on energy bars & to try this peanut butter dark cacao slice we had been eyeing off. It was well worth it!

After a quick shower we then settled at a local bar to watch Germany play Argentina in the World Cup Final.

Post-match we got organised for our hike up Volcan San Pedro at 5am tomorrow and then had a really nice dinner at an Israeli restaurant by the lake.

While San Pedro is not as high as Tajumulco it's still set to be challenging involving a 3,020m climb over a few hours. Wish us luck!
