Day 45 - Xela

GUATEMALA | Sunday, 13 July 2014 | Views [296]

Today we did a lot of travel and life admin sitting on rooftop balconies in the sun having coffee or tucked up in funky cafés enjoying amazing smoothies with fresh fruit for a pittance!

We sampled some traditional Mayan food for lunch, although neither Lindy or I could bring ourselves to eat the intestines in the soup. We tried but some things are best left on the plate right?

I even was so bold as to try a yoga class here. It was entirely in spanish and well we had meditation circles & about 10 minutes of 'om' chanting in a very warm room. It wasn't meant to be bikram, it wasn't quite ashtunga but it was really nice! And a bargain price of like $2.30. There are classes everyday at the lake so hopefully I will try them out too!

There were a heap of people at our hostel last night so we spent the night on the roof chatting which was really nice. We will probably see them at the Lake as most of them are heading there too.

We hope to go paragliding, trek up some more volcanoes & kayak. Should be great fun & beautiful!
