Day 37 - Oaxaca

MEXICO | Friday, 4 July 2014 | Views [304]

After a nice dinner with Claire last night & another friend Andrew we said goodbye to our very comfortable second home in Mexico City & started our journey to Oaxaca.

Apart from Lindy's near death experience at the bus station* we made it to Oaxaca in one piece & already love it.

We found a cheap and cheerful little taco place for dinner a few blocks from our hostel tucked amidst some beautiful & expensive restaurants & galleries and took in some of the historical centre of town.

Our hostel is great & perfectly located although moving to an eight bed mixed dorm and having all your stuff in a locker is an adjustment after our luxurious Polanco lifestyle & even following Casa living in Cuba.

We got in too late to meet our kiwi friend from Cuba - Jodie - who lives in Oaxaca but we are catching up tomorrow instead!

*there were some workmen on the roof of the bus station & they managed to drop a giant tool/piece of equipment that smashed down right next to the cafe table at which Lindy was sitting! Close call but crisis averted!
