Day 30 - Parque Nacional Alejandro de Humboldt

CUBA | Thursday, 26 June 2014 | Views [585]

Another awesome breakfast at what I'm going to say is one of the nicest little Casa's in Cuba.

We got a small group together to get a good price on a tour to the Parque Nacional Alejandro de Humboldt - about an hour & a half northwest of Baracoa.

Our walking guide Riccardo & driver Alfonse were lovely and we had a really good group of people to spend the day with.

On the way to the park we stopped at the famous Chocolate factory opened by Che - you can't go in but we did sample some of the produce in town!

We did a 7km hike, sweated profusely, drank fresh coconut water to rehydrate & then swam in a beautiful river through a waterfall in the rain. It was pretty fantastic!

After the walk we bused back with an hour stop at Playa maguagna - nicest beach in Cuba we have visited.

We came home to another amazing dinner at the Casa & had someone roof top relaxing time before a few Mojito's at the Trova & another small bar with our local friends from Tuesday night.
