My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am never more content than when I have my camera in my hands, or experience any bigger thrill than when I get a shot I feel captures the moment. I have spent the last year travelling around SE Asia and it was here that my passion for photography really developed. Seeing and experiencing first-hand, the difference in the way people live throughout the world was overwhelming. But what was so humbling and will stick with me going forward, was the pure happiness and welcoming nature of the people I met, the importance of family values and teamwork, and how easily they smile! It really put my life in perspective and I depended on my camera to try and communicate these feelings to people back home.

I strive to improve constantly with my photography and am determined to progress to the next level, which is why this scholarship is such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To assist and learn from Jason’s expertise and to benefit from the coverage this competition provides, would be an amazing step forward in my photography and would hopefully mean I could fulfil my dream of being a photographer as a career.
