Everyone has their own role to play in the fishing ‘production line’ in the village and here the boys are busy untangling and mending the fishing nets. In the background the stilt legs of the houses tower above the boat.

The community revolves around the lake and almost all travel is done via boat, with the waterways becoming narrower and narrower into the dry season. This lady is on her way back from the market with her groceries, heading home to cook and feed her family.

It is mid-afternoon and despite the heat, the men wade out into the lake to check the nets and see what is going to be 'catch of the day'.
