    As our tour bus driver takes us down the three-hour route he plies daily, he passes a woman and kid riding home on a scooter, and they all pull over to the road shoulder. From the rear of the bus, we watch as he plants a kiss on the woman and pick his little girl up high in the air. He speaks no English, but when the little family gathering is over and it’s back to work, he climbs back in his seat, flashes a small crooked smile to himself, and hums a soft tune all the way down the road. by: jynkx7 Views[250] Just like anywhere in the world, the people of Kashgar too are inspired by dreams and fantasy. Here amidst the town bazaar’s stalls of daily goods and necessities, a balloon seller draws kids with cheery balloons of Angry Birds and other universal characters. by: jynkx7 Views[371] Even just a night out in the town square is a special occasion. Almost as if to compensate for the drab landscape, children and women deck out in bright colours and elaborate outfits, and pose for a photograph in the plaza. by: jynkx7 Views[275] At a small local bazaar, several patrons and stallholders put aside the realities of life and gather for a casual chat. Amidst a dusty desert town landscape, the Uyghurs find their joy in simple ways like this. by: jynkx7 Views[311] On the streets of Kashgar, a little Uyghur boy amuses himself with items he finds on the street, as his father metalsmiths a teapot over a bed of hot coal in front of his shop. Kashgar is an oasis city in the Taklamakan Desert of Xinjiang, and was a key post on the ancient silk road; Today there is still a lively trade of metal and clay pottery, carpets, silk, jewellery, fresh produce, and livestock. by: jynkx7 Views[1048]
