Crikey! Jamie's gone down under!

The End of Ozintro

So, in the last post, I said I was going flat hunting and job hunting. That didn't happen. The whole plan got turned on its head, and now there is a completely new one! On Wednesday, we are due to fly out to Ayers Rock and do a 3 day tour of the red centre, before flying out to Cairns and starting our journey down the East Coast, where we have booked LOADS of open dated activities. At various points down the coast, we are due to do a scuba diving course, go skydiving, go bugee jumping, white water rafting, jungle surfing (a zipline course going through the rainforest) and a sailing trip round the Whitsunday Islands and Fraser Island. That all cost a cool $3,300, which equates to about 2,200 pounds, more money than I even brought out here! So I am being sent more money to help pay, but I will be working for a while at some point on the East Coast journey to try and top up the funds. The bar crawl was so good on Saturday, our group dressed as sailors and the other group dressed in hawaiian. The format was basically a big bus called the OzParty bus which took us from bar to bar with music pumping loud, everyone banging on the roof and dancing, and lights always flashing. It was a great night out, and I got to wear my Morphsuit for the first time! Check out Facebook for photos of it, it looks brilliant! It got so much interest, there were so many photos with people it was crazy! Sunday was a really lazy day, I headed to the office to start sorting out my CV and other important stuff, and after that, we spent a couple of hours just chilling on the beach. Sunday night was the last night of the Ozintro week, and to celebrate, we got to have dinner up the Sydney Tower, which is a revolving restaurant overlooking all of Sydney. We got dressed up in our most schmicko clothes (an aussie word for finest) and went for dinner. I got to try crocodile and kangaroo meat, both of which were very good! Kangaroo is a bit like beef, but it tastes a lot better, believe me! It was very confusing in a revolving restaurant though, as you went to get food, and when you got back, your table had moved to a completely different position. It's a perfect circle, but I actually managed to get lost many a time!! You're walking round and round, looking for things, and by the time you get back to your table, you've burnt off all the calories you've just eaten!! It was a great night though, a really good way to top it all off. It's a bit sad that it's ending, but we'll bump into each other at various points, I'm sure. When we got back, we went for a few drinks in a bar just along from the hostel, and after that, we ended up sitting on the steps down to the beach as a massive group, drinking the goon that we had left!! Off to bed after that, and we slept pretty soundly. About 7 hours, which counts as one of the longest sleeps we've had all week!! So this morning, we had to move rooms in the hostel to make way for this weeks Ozintro people, so we spent a good amount of time trying to shove everything back in our bags! Afterwards, we headed down to the Ozintro office and started sorting out our CVs for real, and that's where I am now, having spent the last few hours here cos the internet is so slow. Don't really have any plans for the rest of the day, so I'll just see where it takes me. The next post won't be for a good few days yet, so until then, have fun whatever you're doing!! xxxxxx
