DAY 87. The True Rainy New Zealand

NEW ZEALAND | Saturday, 21 January 2017 | Views [317]

We left the holiday park and went to a cafe for breakfast that was kind of out of town and in a small mall complex. I stopped into Countdown then we were on our way. I drove through Wanaka and up the lake for a few hours while the other two napped. I stopped at the Blue Pools parking lot so they could see them. It was raining pretty good by now and I waited for them to walk down. We continued driving, went past Haast and stopped in the Fox Glacier area.

It was down pouring now and we started to look for a hostel or backpackers to stay in for the night. Everything around town was booked up so we went to the holiday park. We should've booked a small cabin for the night in the rain but we got a tent site. We quickly set up camp under a big tree and went inside to cook dinner. We hung out inside in the kitchen/lounge area up until bed time.
