Romantic Rainy Prague

CZECH REPUBLIC | Monday, 29 July 2013 | Views [393]

I love Prague.

It's as magical as I thought it would be and even better. The only disappointment I have is that I haven't been taking enough photos and taking photos that do this beautiful city justice.

I'm staying with Andrea, a girl I met and bonded with, during our stay at our friend's Casa do Santa Teresa in Rio. Seeing her again is just as I'd imagined. It was like meeting a dear sister you love.

The last 24 hours has been unbelievable:
- Laughing at silly videos on YouTube
- Dancing to MTV procrastinating going out
- Finally heading out at 1.30am
- Dancing, drinking and meeting/dodging silly boys at the club(s)
- Ordering a vodka orange and letting the night get "interesting"
- Downing a shot of Czech spirit. Slivovice and knowing for certain that the night would definitely be "interesting"
- Watching the sunrise with our Coronas outside Charles bar after it closed
- Writing down our wishes in what I believe to be highly illegible handwriting (if it even got written) and throwing it into the Vltava, using our empty Corona bottles as vehicles
- Walking over the empty Charles bridge and quickly passing by a famous statue that people usually queue to see, in favour of finding somewhere to pee
- Writing "I heart love" on the John Lennon wall in Kampa
- Dancing and singing our way home to songs on my iPhone, attracting strange looks from earlybirds on their way to work
- Visiting the bakery to banish the post-night-out hunger and the supermarket to do some post-night-out groceries just because
- Waking up and eating homemade caprese that we wanted to have a few hours ago
- Visiting delightful café Alchymista next door for delicious treats, chats and laughs about the "memorable" morning blurred by a slight Slivovice-induced amnesia
- Trying to beat the storm and not let it get in the way of our plans to sightsee
- Retracing our steps through Prague Castle to take photos
- Marching behind guards after giving up on photos
- Getting caught in the storm and running down the Old Castle steps
- Having another heavy typical Czech dinner
- Nearly getting lost
- Running (again) in the rain from the tram stop to home
- Laughing hysterically the whole time!
