Dear all,
THE BLOG IS BACK!!! WOOHOO. And hopefully I will have plenty to write about and stories that wont include scrubbing toilets, selling 10pence sweeties and most importantly not working 6 days a week!let the amazing adventures of jess and dan resume…well, maybe the first day hasn’t been so amazing..
The last week in Pitlochry has been crazy catching up with everyone. The date has come along so quickly that we were cramming everything into the last week. The finale to it all was a party at the bar with residents and staff. Lovely Lesley and dreamy Dreana (: made a huge array of party food and marvellous Mags had a caravan cake for us!it looked great and tasted even better. Once the party was over weve been madly packing shipping boxes, cleaning up the chalet and packing our backpacks. I’m not sure if its because I havnt worn the backpack for a while or that I have collected a lot of junk..but its seems ALOT heavier than before.
I’m writing this right now on the train from Pitlochry to London. So far we havnt had much luck though. We had a final Rabies jab yesterday and my whole arm is aching. More than that though I made roast chicken for dinner last night and around 6pmish dan started to look a little green, he managed to eat however by 3am it had all come back up..eeeww.and silly me thought I would rub his back only to walk into the bathroom faced with the wave of spew stink and dans gagging which caused an instant reflex that sent me back down the hallway gagging…im no good at all when it comes to spew. Were not sure what he’s got, the options are food poisining (strange cz we ate the same things all day) someone suggested alcohol poisoning (dan has just finished a massive week long goodbye drinks) or hes picked up some nasty bug.whatever it is he is looking a little brighter now but still not himself.
At 9am we were at the Pitlochry station waiting for the direct express train to London which would get us there by 3.30pm. But after a 5 minute delay..15 minute delay…35 minutes.. the station master then came out and handed out pamphlets for us to claim the price of our tickets back because the train would be more than an hour late. Arrghhh. Eventually got onto the train, rode 20 minutes and then got stopped again for technical difficulties. We’ve ended up so delayed that our morning London train has joined the afternoon London train, meaning theres more stops and we wont be arriving in London till 6pm!luckily I’ve had enough time to fill out the paperwork to claim back my ticket.
So in short, forces were definitely against us leaving Pitlochry!
Thursday night…
We have had a big few days. Arrived late tues night at the Astor Hyde Park a beautiful hostel on hyde park in a really posh area near all the embassies..very spiffy. Hostel is clean and friendly, room is nice. However returning to dorm rooms has been a little rough..woken up by two Italian boys getting back at 5am..each night is getting a little smoother though.
Spent Wednesday with Matt and Suzie, the owners of the dargo river inn. Wandered the city, visited madam tussauds and then wandered around a little longer. Went on the London Eye 7pmish Tuesday night, the sun was setting so all the lights were on and it was gorgeous, really pretty view of the city.
Spent the rest of the night with matt and suzie, however I had a nasty turn and couldn’t keep down my dinner and was sick..eeww. Not sure whats going on, either dan had a bug and passed it on or we have both reacted to the last rabies shot. Not sure, but weve both had very similar symptoms. Felt horrible today, so we wandered the shops and then laid in the sun at hyde park for while.
Everything is booked for the Egypt.. Were off early Saturday morning so we have a few last minute things to organise tomorrow and then the real fun starts!
Love lots, jxoxo
