    After tea, the family continues to cooks the rest of the sheep. This includes the intestines, head, and feet. These parts were eaten through out the week and even sometimes month until all pats of the sheep were gone. by: janicekbyth Views[321] When we are done with the first meal, we drink some mint tea prepared by Meryem. It’s a wonderfully sugary refreshing drink to have after a large meal. by: janicekbyth Views[194] Back at the house, Muhammad helps prepare the sheep for eating. The heart, lungs, and liver are cooked and eaten first before anything else. Everyone helps with preparing the meal, whether it’s cutting the meat, cooking, or making the salad. by: janicekbyth Views[236] While we waited for our sheep to be skinned for us, another sheep was getting prepared for sacrifice. Our sheep had bleated a lot before hand, but this one was quiet like he had accepted his fate. by: janicekbyth Views[219] Early on the morning of Eid, I woke up with my host sister, Meryem and host dad, Muhammad to get our sheep. Eid Al Adha is an Islamic holiday comes from the story of Ibrahim’s devotion towards God and his willingness to sacrifice his son but in the end God gives Ibrahim a sheep instead This a picture of the sheep right before my host dad sacrificed it.
