We set off early on JD to go to Wales. The weather was terrible ALL weekend.
Our first stop was Rockhampton in England...yes that's right, there is a Rockvegas in England. Not much of a happening place like home. However it is a CUTE little country 'town' (about 4 houses + town hall and Church). It took us about 3 mins in total to see the whole place, although it was weird seeing signs with Rockhampton written on it!
We then headed towards Bristol over the TOLL bridge which cost us £5.90 - Rip off. It was so rainy and windy on the bridge we were a little scared, just a little! We then headed down the coast line through Newport, Cardiff, Llantwit Major, Ogmore by-Sea where we got out of the car at the beach and it was WAY TO COLD and hoped bak in the car again! Then onto Bridgend up the motorway to Port Talbot. We then go to Swansea and tried finding a Travelodge to stay the night but couldn't find one. We wish we just went to the nearest hotel and asked if there was any accommodation because we wasted our time due to a Rally being on and there was NO accommodation. The lady told us we had to then go back to CARDIFF!!! NOT HAPPY! We then headed back to Cardiff where we found a Travelodge and it was £70 per night to stay at a servo, due to the rally! We then headed onto Newport were we finally found somewhere, a little B&B for £50p/n with a HUGE breaky.
The next day the owner had told us to go and see the Brecon Beacons National park. So we headed up for a really pretty drive around the mountains. The weather was TERRIBLE, so we have to go back again. We then headed to Brecon were we stopped in to the Info centre to find some brochures about Wales. There are SO many castle we have yet to see!
We then headed off to the Black Mountains were stopped off at any Castle we could, there are SO many in Wales! We then headed up to Leominster and then to Shrewsbury. We had lunch there and a wonder around the town, which is quite nice. Then back onto Manchester.
