We got dropped off at Springfield Plaza this morning and found our way to Target first, just to browse, then did a bit of grocery shopping at Giant. Laden with a mule load's worth of heavy shopping, we trudged our way home and restocked the fridge.
In the PM, we fertilised the lawn and plants both back and front and sprayed the weeds which have now started to surface again, despite our removing most of it and laying a weed block sheeting before doing any planting. We'll have to keep up the spraying, till we've achieved the desired level of weed attrition.
Our last job out the back, is to instal a sprinkler system, which can be coupled up to a garden hose. However as I mentioned previously, the pop up sprinklers that we use at home are not readily available here. We are doing a little investigation on line to see if we can locate and buy enough to cover the back lawn and garden. I know they're are around because I've seen them on the lawns of a number of government type buildings and there are a number of businesses around which will do the work, but it is really a DIY thing.
We also did a little bit of research on finding a small garden shed and have narrowed the list to a plastic type of shed rather than a metal one mainly because the former is the right size to fit a confined space, it comes complete with a floor and requires little assembly.
