Once again we got dropped off at Home Depot (about four times bigger than Bunnings), where we looked for and found, most of the items on our home improvement list. We're always impressed by the friendliness of the staff and while they may not always know where specific items are located, they will go out of their way to find someone who does. It's an interesting place. Today in the entry foyer, there was a display of three items showing quite clearly that Home Depot's prices were cheaper than Lowe's (their most fierce competitor) - there wouldn't have been any fudging or special selection involved, would there ?
Trudged the 2 miles home - on the way, took this pic of I 95 as it passes through Springfield. There are 12 or 13 lanes here I think, including the middle two or three HOV (High Occupancy Vehicles) lanes, but there wasn't too much traffic on it, at that time of day. Very different at peak hours !
After recovering from the humidity, we got stuck into digging out grassy weeds around the back, while Marg cleaned and stained an older bookcase, which exhibited some major scratching and was probably headed for the rubbish dump. It came up very well and once polished, was re-installed in the living room.
I was worried about the fact that my hands would become all pink and clean if I wasn't working on car parts while I was here, but I shouldn't have been concerned - Leanne and Brian have plenty of dirty work for us both.
