I've been dosing myself with all sorts of elixirs, some of which ought to help turn the tide in my favour. Late in the PM, it seemed to be doing some good in that I felt I was losing the congestion and the thick head. It has definitely stifled productivity around the house, to date. We'll see if it produces any results.
I was able to hang the gate today, though either the gatepost or the side of the house isn't square. It's only by something like 9/16", so given the state of the fence in general, it's quite acceptable. I've still got to devise some way of securing the gate in the closed position, ie by using a gate bolt or something equivalent, but it will have to slot into the side of the house (Tab A into Slot A) and that's made of vinyl siding (cladding). That is a type of modern weatherboard and I don't know what is underneath the vinyl cladding, yet. I assume it will be a plywood wall, over which has been laid the cladding, but I'll ask next time I'm at Home Depot.
Stopped in at Nordstrom's (a ladies shop !) in the Pentagon shopping centre, where Leanne picked up some classy shoes for the film shoot she will be doing next week in Ohio. As an aside, the shop attendant who served her was a black chap no taller than me, who was wearing very large shoes. I asked him what size they were and he admitted to being a size 15. Bigger than Thorpie !
