Winding Down & Gearing Up

ISRAEL | Friday, 8 June 2007 | Views [664] | Comments [6]

This week has been a little wierd. Classes at Pardes ended last Thursday and there has been a steady flow of friends leaving ever since. I've been averaging about three to five good-byes a day, which if you can imagine is a bit of a downer.

The bright spot of the week however, was that Debbie & Meir and Dina & Chad by some great coincidence were all visiting Israel at the same time. They each had family weddings this week and decided independently of one another to make full vacations out of the occasion. It was so fun to hang out with them. We spent one day at the Dead Sea and I got to meet Debbie & Meir's beautiful children, Penina & Yoni. And yesterday we spent in Jerusalem, with breakfast at Aroma (where else?) followed by shopping in town.

I said goodbye to them yesterday and started focusing on gearing up for Africa. I have lots to do before I take off next Tuesday. I'm busy nailing down all the final details and getting very excited (if not a little anxious as well).
