Tarija

BOLIVIA | Thursday, 17 January 2008 | Views [620]

Im still in Tarija, and am running out of things to do. It is not very exciting here, its very family oriented so for me its expecially blah. Yesterday I hung out with one of Erika´s friends from Buenos Aires who is traveling with us and just arrived here.  We walked around taking pictures and wasting time for the entire day.  Its amazing how here literaly everything is closed from noon to 3 so everyone can go home for lunch.  The streets go from being completely full to completely empty.

I guess the best thing about tarija is the food, extremely cheap and tasty. (The picture is of a lady cooking humintas, my favorite. its like a cross between a cheese tamale and corn bread) I have to fill up today because tomorrow we are planning on leaving for Sucre, a small town that is more touristy. In Sucre we are meeting more people and then heading out to the salar de Uynui, which is one of the wonders of the world so im told.

More exciting stuff later... i hope
