Guilin

So since there was nothing to do yesterday at work i decided to jump on the bus with a group that were heading to Shanghi and got off at Guilin. I haven't spent any time in our main city as it takes about 1 1/2 hours to get there and always seems like a mission. So anyways my friend was going to the dentist and she knew her way around. I ended up wondering round aimlessly for an hour while she had her tooth pulled out. It was actually really fun and cool. Big shops with all the same stuff but thats all good. We went to this massive supermarket which is under a big department store. Here i found lots of GOOD stuff like NZ Milk, butter, cheese, vegemite, maggi soup and other things. There was also lots of Japanese stuff which i liked so i shopped up a storm!!! It was so nice to be around stuff where i knew what it was!

We didnt get home till 10pm because as we were walking to the bus station they had closed the main street and heaps of people where setting up stalls for a night market. it was pretty neat to see and good to walk past without getting herrased like we do in Yangshuo. The stuff was pretty much the same same but slightly different.

Was great to get out of Yangshuo and cruise around another city but then again i wont be rushing back there in too much of a hurry. Its a good place to go once a month maybe and stock up.....
