Dave and I planted two rows of tomatoes, and Dave watered them regularly. Mulching helped keep them moist and weed free. Tomatoes do not like their leaves wet but they do like to dry out between waterings.

Dave and I planted two rows of tomatoes, and Dave watered them regularly. Mulching helped keep them moist and weed free. Tomatoes do not like their leaves wet but they do like to dry out between waterings.

The seedlings were potted and grew until they were transplanted into the garden or the greenhouse garden. In rainy season, the greenhouse protects the plants from too much rain.

The only type of tomato that would work was the cherry tomato, although some of them grew very large indeed. We were actually able to pick a few ripe tomatoes before we left.
