    The isolated village of Konce nestled at the foot of the mountains in South Eastern Macedonia. Most of the land in the surrounding areas is used for farming and crops. by: evolution Views[270] Fatime cracks walnuts in her yard. These will be packaged and set aside for her children and grandchildren when they come to visit from other countries. Fatime's generation are accustomed to lives of hard and consistent work. by: evolution Views[260] Seyhan plays in the tobacco leaves while her mother stitches them together using a specially designed sewing machine. Tobacco farming is particularly difficult but it is the main source of income for the villagers. by: evolution Views[369] Bekir proudly holds up a Turkish flag. Although many villagers have never travelled out of Macedonia and their culture is a unique combination of South Eastern European and Ottoman, they still identify themselves as being Turkish. by: evolution Views[286] The bride and groom make their way past an old mosque on their way to the village registry office.
