So I suppose I'm overdue an update. I'm still here in Tas and planning on being here for a while longer. The weather isn't always perfect but other than that I'm loving it here. The family have been wonderful and I love the feeling of living in the country, although I'm only five minutes on the bus from the city centre. The long walk up the hill takes a lot longer, but my bottom is definitely benefitting from the workout. The wildlife here is a bit of a change from what we have in the Weege, and I'm not talking about the locals. I get a kick our of spotting a wide variety critters in or asround the house.
I've also been working in a restaurant in Hobart. It's a family kind of place with a nice atmosphere. The folks I work with are lovely, although I feel like a battered old hen amongst the little fluffy young chicks. Most of them are ten years younger than me. My name badge reads "Irish" which is what everyone calls me here. It causes no end of confusion for obvious reasons, but I like it very much. It's hard work, but I'm doing as much as I can to earn enough money for the rest of my trip. I'm nearly halfway through my time now and I've been trying to decide what I'll do next. I still have a bit of Tasmania to see and the whole of the middle of mainland Australia, from Adelaide to Darwin, so all that will take a bit of time and money.
Hope you are all well and have survuved the winter. Thanks for all the emails and texts. Miss you very much. xxxxx
