Gt Ocean Rd, Cape Otway & 12 Apostles

AUSTRALIA | Tuesday, 8 March 2016 | Views [353]

Stayed a couple of nights on Cape Otway which was beautifaul.  The highlight was seeing 4 koalas in the trees surrounding the campsite.  Visited the oldest lighthouse in oz and walked some of the great ocean walk along amazing beaches.  Had a very entertaining bushtucker talk by oz's answer to Billy Conolloy, including his very colourful language!  Fortunately only vegetarian tucker was on the menu and no bugs!  Went on a night walk to Melba Gully to see the glow worms, this was magical the whole forest was lit up with little fairy lights.   Left Otway and travelled on to the 12 apostles which are sea stacks.  Visited the 12 apostles again at night time to see the little penguins coming onshore to roost in their burrows.  Could just about make them out in the dark.  really cute walking up the beach together.  The night skies here are amazing, never seen so many stars.  We are heading in land today to the Grampian mountains.  Still amazing!
