Oi All,
Went to a candomble ceremony last night. Those people sure have energy and rhythm.
Now this wasn't part of the plan. Vanessa and I went for a walk along a walkway heading out to the lighthouse...and got robbed. Shame as it was a beautiful walk. Goodbye camera! Someone stepped out of a favala house onto the footpath and grabbed the camera. Unfortunately for him and his friend the camera was well connected to Vanessa. We stupidly stood our ground fighting them for about 10 minutes until the camera neck strap broke and they got away with it. They obviously need some practice at robbing. We were more annoyed than scared. Vanessa got a scratch on her hand and I was fine. Went to the police and they said that it was a bad area and this happened a lot!!!! Not expecting them to do anything. nice place.
We might head back to Rio. We aren't sure that we want to stay in a tiny little sanitised area surrounded by not so nice suburbs.
