Basilica Catherdral located in the city of Arequipa. As with most buildings in the area the cathedral was built using white petrified lava giving the city the name "White City". Construction of the was completed in 1544 but it has been reduced to rubble by earthquakes and eruptions from the surrounding volcanoes numerous times. The latest eruption occurred in 2001 and completely destroyed the towers.
