Our first refugio we stayed at when we arrived at the W Trek. We didn't know it at the time but this was a rare view of Torres del Paine or "The Towers". A park ranger told me it meant "blue" since that is what color they look from from a distant. I imagine it's created by the lake beneath them but who knows. After climbing to them the next day I affectionately refer to them as "The Towers of Pain".
