This is the site of the Banana Tree Races. We had heard about them but were not sure exactly what day or time they would be on. After leaving Galapagos we traveled for 26 hours by boat, cars and planes to arrive on Easter Island one hour before they started. Our host Maria drove us to this location with 5 minutes to spare.
