Lenten Celebrations in Antigua

During Lent each weekend, there is a procession thru Antigua. These processions begin in nearby towns and the "andas" depicting Christ crucifixion are walked by cucuruchos (guys in purple) for hours. The Antiguanios create beautiful rugs on the streets made from flowers, colored saw dust so that the float with Christ passes over them.
