Today, being the 14th day and all, marks a whole fortnight of me being away from good ol' Aus! In a few weeks I'll probably look back and laugh, but it feels like a bit of a landmark.
Not a great deal happened today. Somehow I have accummulated a vast quantity of "stuff", despite not buying any souvenirs yet. This is mainly because of William's leftover boots and other trekking gear. No idea what I will do with it all when I need to travel somewhere.
Nepalis love to improvise, especially when it comes to cars and buses. Taxis are just little suzukis with a small sign duct-taped on top. Its not uncommon to see 20 people in the back of a minivan, hanging out the windows or door. I saw an ambulance today; a converted white van with a few decals and an IV drip hanging out the window. Especially don't want to get sick now.
As I left the guest house this morning I was met with a big crowd blocking the intersection. Police were everywhere, at least 30 or so. I had no idea how safe it was to hang around but it was interesting, so i did. I think it was some drunk guy trying to start a fight with all the others egging him on, but with all the police around nothing happened. It was very noisy with all the cars and motorbikes beeping. I was somewhat dissappointed by the event, as a riot or gang fight would have been a good travel story.
