Cuenca & Valencia Wednesday September 2

SPAIN | Wednesday, 2 September 2015 | Views [230]

Spent the morning walking around the old town of Cuenca. This place is amazing and we are now disappointed we were only here for 1 night. Oh well, we can't do everything! Went back to last night's restaurant for an early lunch,  which turned out to be a long lunch. Just chilling with the locals and chatting to our cheeky waiter. We couldn't understand a word either of us was saying but we had a great time.

Arrived in Valencia late afternoon and after checking into our hotel we jumped on the hop on - hop off bus. The tour took nearly 2 hours. Traffic was heavy .- Valencia has a population of 800,000 and seems like everyone lives in the inner city. It is a mass of apartments no more than 10 stories high. It has some beautiful buildings and is quite historic as a sea port. Although it's not as beautiful as Madrid and Toledo, or as magnificent as Cuenca, it's still vibrant Spain. Can't believe we sat within ear shot of Aussie tourists who did nothing but winge and talk AFL on the bus. Really!
