Round the World in 301 Days As long as we can just keep putting one foot in front of the other, well make it.

Ticking Along...

Not alot to report from Sydney at the moment.  The Pope came to the city and brought 200,000 pilgrims with him.  The place has been a mad house with every hotel, hostel and train full to the top for the last 7 days, but they all go home tomorrow and then there will be peace again.

I, at long last, am underway in my role as an investment banker.  The job is on an account just now thats worth a fortune selling some biometric software product.  On Friday, when we got started, we processed payments and checked security clearances for half the applications we had recieved and i was handling some crazy amounts of money... 2 of the cheques i put through were for $2,000,000 each!!  Unreliable as i am, i hold a job thats borderline important.  God bless clerical errors.  The job, i was told, was to go on for a couple of months but it looks like we'll be finished mid next week.  I asked the boss about it and he said that the 2 other people i started at the same time as are going to be let go,but im going to be kept on to help him on another account that starts next Monday.  The next account is worth $660,000,000 - there should be work for ages!!  So thats that.  Jo is still working for the applications processing company. Her job has become more diverse with more responsibility and shes enjoying heself there alot.

We are apartment hunting to try and get out of the ghetto that we live in, but its taking quite some time - there doesnt seem to be that many vacant apartments in the city centre.  And we still havent sold our car!

Later all.

If you could see your way into popping one of those cheques into my account I would be suitably grateful! I am glad you have a job you like, investment banker will look good on the CV. Had lunch at the Tun yesterday with Colin, Beth, Ken, Tom - with the purple hair, Kate and Joanna. Nice thing to do on a very wet Sunday. Tom has purple hair because he was out in France doing the E'tappe which is a bike race on a stage of the Tour de France. 100 miles up huge mountains with 8500 cyclists. Madness of the highest order. The group decided to dye their hair and on Tom it really took! I will get Kate to send you a photo. It will make you smile. The weather was so awful over the weekend I was so bored I ironed and went to Tesco - enough to make you lose the will to live! The rugby fans over there must have been over the moon at beating South Africa fresh after SA beating the All Blacks.

Anyway not a lot of news from here as you can see from the above. Love and hugs to you and Jo, good luck with the flat hunting, miss you, love Mum xx
