I am independent, well-educated and highly motivated. Single, I raised my 2 children on my own. I retired 3 years ago, at age 52 – I was a dentist and later sold insurance and investments.

I am by nature an explorer. I travel light, often, usually alone and often down the road seldom travelled.

I am a passionate digital photographer. Self-taught 3 years ago, I do whatever it takes to get a unique shot. My quest is to educate and illuminate.

My vision begins and ends in storytelling - the goal of expressing life’s full range of experiences. Satisfaction occurs when I induce the viewer to pause and reflect on the photo at hand, seeking the numerous meanings held within.

Should I win, I will be able to acquire skills I lack. I need an experienced and critical eye to correct my deficiencies in taking and processing photos. More importantly, I will have access to the knowledge of what publications demand of photographers, such as how to shoot an unfamiliar topic with various restraints on time, finances and content.

The experience will be great fun! I love to learn from the best and hope to contribute to your publication for years to come. I look forward to meeting you all. Rob
