5 ) A new novice bows in prayer, as he leaves the world he knows for a simple, unfamiliar life and a higher calling.

4) Novice monks form a long moving line, making their way through the throng of well wishers. They modestly bow and avert looking into the eyes of the donor, as they accept money that will aid them in their future, minimalistic existence.
