Well have just checked into a relatively liveable hotel. Did some ultimate Niamh McNally work - Ie, don't ask don't get - room was nasty so asked to change rooms - twice! I never do that sort of thing. Now have a nice breezy pink room. Also got to flirt with lovely reception man.
Bangkok was great fun and surprisingly easy to get around. Tuk tuk drivers were real pests. Still need to master art of banter. I just get shouted at when I try to negotiate a price.
Had a wicked journey from Bngkok to Chiang Mai on an overnight train - I love them!! Had no sleep - still on london time dammit! plus man opposite was snoring very loudly. So gave up sleep and had fun doing sudoku and taking pictures and videos of me and my little den. Hee hee!
Off to explore Chiang Mai now. Living in chinatown area which has a night market which sounds fab. It's also a national festival today, Budda day I think so there will be much celebrations tonight (although all the bars are closed so we will see....)
