Nap time, finally!

After 24 hours pretty much bang on, door to door, I've arrived at a very nice studio apartment that will be home for the week in Buenos Aires.

Vancouver...Toronto...Santiago...Buenos Aires.  All business class with Air Canada, so very civilized.  G & T in a glass, wine from the bottle, almonds instead of pretzels, and a dinner menu.  And real knives.

First, a little geography.  Buenos Aires is the same distance from Vancouver as Auckland, NZ.  And the same angle - just southeast instead of southwest.  It's 5 time zones ahead of Vancouver, on the same longitude as Goose Bay Labrador.  About 11,300 kms directly, but 13,000 or so if you add up the individual trips.  Really far anyway.

Considering that it's obviously in the southern hemisphere, it's summer here.  A very nice 35 degrees or so, and sunny. Great streetscape, with lots of tree canopy keeping things coolish.

One unexpected little pleasure in my apartment is a computer with internet, so I'll be able to load some pics up before I take off to Mendoza at the end of the week.  (My intent has been to take a long distance bus to Mendoza - service first class British Airways style, with beds, menu service, stewards, etc.  12 hours vs. about 90 minutes by plane.  At this moment, I'm a little freaked out by another 12 hour trip.  We'll see how it goes).

Oh.  Another unexpected thing in the apartment. I ran into a bidet for the first time.  Um...well...I was a little curious about the whole thing.  Lucky there were lots of towels.

Nap time.....

You are so funny. The first time I saw a bidet was when I was 13 in Swedan. hehehehehe, fun to try but kind of weird and wouldn't want to always use them. I think they are more for men anyhow. Happy to hear things were exciting right from the get go. Take care, I will keep reading and travel along with you B.
