Today was
pretty low key. Adam off to work in the AM while the rest of us mooched around
the house having brekkie and getting our gear sorted for the weekend – us heading
to Edinburgh and the other two off to Bristol.
Eventually
we were all in the car and heading south out of sunny Aberdeen. An uneventful
drive along the pretty coast got us safely to Edinburgh airport where we parted
ways.
Adam and
Kaff on their flight to Bristol and us two onto the airport flyer bus into
town. It was exciting to see the castle looming and various other interesting
things on our way – view from the top floor of the bus was great! We made it
safely to our pre-purchased sale price B&B (the only time in our lives we’ll
be staying somewhere called The Ritz!!).
We settled in to our room, Bray checked the TV channels, Roni looked online for
sights info for the morrow and we relaxed before heading out to explore the
Haymarket area.
Just past the train station was a proliferation
of charity second hand stores – unfortunately it closing time so we didn’t get
to take advantage of them! We had a good explore before realising that our ‘block’
wasn’t one you could walk around...it changed names and went off in another
direction. Past various stores we headed with a quick stop at the supermarket
for beverages and some Hobnobs for Bray (his latest addiction) before heading
back for a quiet night in with cold bacon & egg pie for dinner courtesy of
Kaff – yum! Well excited to be in Edinburgh.
