The bus was
clean, we had seats next to each other and all was good. A little sleep
achieved on the ride until we woke up properly around Glasgow. Bray popped out
for some fresh (and decidedly chilly) air while driver’s changed then we were
on the road again.
A flat tire
near Perth caused a delay of 15mins or so but the bus was warm and they kept us
informed so we have no complaints. Arrived in Aberdeen to see Kaff’s smiling
face – yay - another reunion. Roni hadn’t seen her since bridesmaiding earlier
this year in Tokoroa for her and Bray hadn’t seen her since high school!
We arrived
at their place on Fonthill Road where Adam had prepared delicious snacks and
was well ensconced in front of the F1. A lazy day was spent sharing photos, stories
and F1 while we recovered from the past day or so of long distance travel. We
ventured out in the evening for some 10 pin bowling and a wander along the
Esplanade before heading home for kai. Chinese from their favourite local place
was enjoyed along with bubbles purchased especially to celebrate our engagement
– cute! Eventually we all headed to bed, us two were definitely ready for it
after very little sleep for the last two nights.
