The BIG Trip

Chilli goodness

GERMANY | Monday, 31 October 2011 | Views [523]

Today was pretty quiet. Roni was up early for a wee jog out & about to get bread for breakfast. Home to eat with Bray then tidying and some washing from the Berlin trip. We made omelette for lunch and Bray tried his flipping skills...went relatively well and the fl-omlette bits were also consumed!

After lunch we had a wee rest, did the dishes then set out to explore another direction from here thoroughly. We were out for about three hours and saw some contemporary sculpture, many African hair salons, a little graf, historic buildings here and there and a whole lot of autumn leaves! Home in time to help with dinner preparations.

Simon was creating an oversize batch of his Mum’s chilli con carne – Maren and Roni were ‘allowed’ in the kitchen to chop things and make the salad. Simon is very particular about Uta’s recipes!! After numerous taste tests there were two massive pots of chilli on the stove – HOT version and a milder one.

Neta & Tatu came over around 7.30. They are the couple who we had dinner with when we first arrived in Hamburg – so lovely to see them again and chat about the roadie, share pics and hear about their impending Myanmar trip. Everyone (apart from us unemployed travellers) was fading as the night wore on so dishes time, Neta & Tatu headed home and we eventually went to bed.
