Life abroad.. Bit about the search for work on a yacht and life abroad!

The boss has gone

Well after a couple of long hard days with very little sleep, the owner has left the boat for now. Ive heard he will be back in a week or so, but noone is certain. Last few days have been up at 5 or 6am starting with a quick wash down and shammy of the boat. Generally we would break for breakfast about 9 or 10am depending on when we finish the wash. Normally have a break till about lunch time or unless the boss wanted to get the toys out or take the tender out ar even if we a relocating the boat. Always have to be on standby incase called up to get changed into togs or are needed for the tender etc. Our days have been ending about 11pm, so they are very long days, but getting breaks every now and then and using the toys etc. But its still a long tiring day, 3 of them and its catching up with me. As much as you would want to go water skiing, sometimes ya just want to chill..... but its al good, just nut it out and its sweet.

We werent allowed cameras with the owner, so havent got any pics of the last few days and where we went. checked out a few other places and anchored at some awesome bays! I think we may be off to corsica which is what I have heard until the owner comes, and the big trip of the year with the owner ive heard will be going all round the Italian riviera. Should be good!

Its a mint job, stinking hot everyday and need to keep slapping on the sun screen. Still learning alot of things but giving it all a go. Once Ive done things a couple times im normally sussed and dont have many problems with it, but I have only been on for a week, compared to the first mate whos had several years experience so it will all come to me. Just stoked that I had scored this job, being so 'green' in the industry. Pretty lucky actually.

Plenty of other huge yachts around here also! but hopefully the next few days will be 8-5pm working days and get to catch up on some sleep. and also, plenty of watersports also!

All in all, its going well. Looking forward to seeing where we go next!
