China has been pretty weird for me. I've enjoyed what we've been doing, well some of it, but I haven't been feeling like we're doing a lot. Sitting in a leper colony somewhere shaving heads, washing hair, cleaning or simply having dinner/lunch with the community was great! but there were so many times we were stuck on the outside looking in. We don't speak the language, nothing was being translated and we couldn't help. It was hard, discouraging and frustrating.
I have learned a lot through it all, though. My patience, outlook and attitude in these situations is obviously being worked on. Although some times were hard to feel worth while about, there were others that very obviously were amazing and full of God. God had His hand in so many things we did. He set devine appointments, gave us words to say, and recharged tired spirits. He provides and takes such good care of us. Always makes sure we have something to do and things to share. It's just up to us to choose to listen and take advantage of the plan He has for us.
Our family has grown once again. Another sister! By the end of this trip I hope to have met new family members in every country we go to. It would be so cool to help get a new brother or sister, but for now I'm trying to just rejoice in the fact that I had a role in so many different lives being changed. So cool that God has chosen to use us. What an honour!
I can't wait for India!
