    The life inside the walled city of Lahore has a taste of its own. It is so serene yet so busy. I stood at the end of this street, attracted by the wonderful light and ambiance; seeing the hawkers pass by, garbage man collecting garbage on his bicycle and children running errands for their mothers. by: anwarsrosh Views[1347] Streets of Lahore are so full of surprises, somewhere a maze of dark narrow alleys where light rarely reaches to vast courtyard of Mughal Era Mosques. The streets are alive with the voices of street vendors, laughing children, chattering elders, merry voices of girls behind the curtained dingy quarters and women bickering with vendors. I found this quite and serene moment among the jumble of voices and activities. A women passes by a street when a narrow shaft of light illuminates her by: anwarsrosh Views[1116] It is usual for children to hang out on the street to play or be with neighborhood kids. by: anwarsrosh Views[484] It was a sunny winter day and a weekend as well. The children do not have access to play grounds but they are used to playing cricket on the street. Cricket is the most played sport in this part of the world. by: anwarsrosh Views[618] In the old times, Lahore was surrounded by a wall and thirteen gates to protect it. Most of the gates have disappeared but you can still see the original architecture with people still living in those houses. It is a jumble of shops and residential buildings or both. Old men like to stand in the street and fill their leisure time with their pals or just staring at their familiar surroundings and the activity. by: anwarsrosh Views[578]
